New arena for Dnipropetrovsk | | 12.09.2008, 11:30 | |  | | On Sunday, September 14, the convivial ceremony of Dnipro stadium inauguration, the place to host the EURO 2012 matches, will take place in Dnipropetrovsk. Over hundred mass media representatives are keen to throw the light on this event, Ukrinform reports.
Honored guests
The inauguration ceremony will welcome over thirty thousand residents and guests of Dnipropetrovsk that will celebrate its Day on the weekend coming. Among the honored guests President of Ukraine Victor Yuschenko is expected to arrive, as well as numerous political figures and showmen, mayors of cities of Ukraine and Poland to host the EURO 2012 matches. The spectators will be presented with entertainment show with several thousand artists involved.
Initial kick for veterans
The organizers also promised the fans a chance to relish a match with veterans line up from FC Dnipro, FC Spartak Moscow and FC Dynamo Kyiv. The match is dedicated to the anniversaries of winning golden medals by Dnipro in USSR championship (1983 and 1988). Two national TV channels − TET and Fifth Channel − will be broadcasting this sublime event in live. The first match to be played on a new pitch is scheduled on September 28. Dnipro will face Metalurh Zaporizhya.
All essential conditions
We remind that state committee have signed the document allowing to set Dnipro stadium into operation on September 8. The building of a new football arena was launched in April 2005. Now it's capacity makes 31 000 seats with the pitch sized 105x68 m, it contains dressing rooms, training session halls, fitness room, rooms for coaching staff, press-tribune, referees rooms, VIP tribunefor 296 seats, restaurant for 550 seats. Decent conditions were also secured for handicapped fans. Underground parking is planned to be built nearby the stadium. |
