On Tuesday, on the meeting of Presidium of Football Federation of Ukraine, the chairman of National teams' Committee and Coaches' Council of FFU Mikhail Fomenko reported on a situation about the selection of candidates for the position of a head coach of a national team of Ukraine. According to his speech, during the discussion some trainers suggested to invite specialist from England, Oleg Luzhny and Yury Vernidub called  Redknapp's surname. The majority of members of the committee supported this suggestion.

The presidium made the decision to start negotiations with  Redknapp's representatives concerning his work on the position of the head coach of a national team of Ukraine.

In interview for FFU press service Mikhail Fomenko said: «In my opinion, Redknapp will have high authority on players of the national team. He has enough experience being a coach and ability to motivate football players. In all teams headed by  Redknapp, the quality of game and significant progress had been quickly improved. For today, he is one of the best of British coaches.
